It stands for Active Server Pages. NET. This framework is object-oriented, which can assist in creating reusable classes, standardized codes, and much more.

In this article, we will discuss what ASP.NET is and why you should be using it.

ASP.NET is a web application framework that was created by Microsoft. It was started in the 2000s and runs on Windows. Web services can be created using ASP.NET. It also supports a number of programming models to build website applications, such as ASP.NET web forms and web pages.

There are many reasons as to why you should be using ASP.NET.

1. It is an open source, and free to use! And since it was developed by Microsoft, you know that you can count on your software not expiring. Microsoft stays on top of their development platforms.

2. The website can be fast and very effective when ASP.NET is used. Their applications are compiled. This means they are executed once the code has been translated to object code. It only takes a short amount of time for this to happen, and it only needs to happen once. After the initial execution, it will continue to run over and over.

3. It is very popular to use and known worldwide. In fact, it is one of the most popular ones on the internet to use. Chances are the reason for its popularity is because it runs on IIS. IIS is what a majority of the corporations used a long time ago, and now IIS servers make up about 28% of the internet.

4. It can be used on so many different platforms. Linux, Apple, and Windows all run great with this framework.

5. ASP.NET is cost-effective. An ASP.NET code can be written using a text editor, free programming tools, and the Visual Studio application, which is free through the community edition.

6. The performance of ASP.NET is astonishing. Caching services and just-in-time compilations are utilized, as is early binding.

7. Continuous monitoring is provided. Any pages that are running will be monitored. If there is any activity that should not be happening, the activity will be destroyed immediately, and it will restart. Such activities may include memory leaks or infinite loops.

8. Tasks are simple to perform using ASP.NET. These tasks include deployment, site configuration, and client authorization.

9. Object-oriented programming is used when writing ASP.NET. These languages may include VB.net or C#. This is perfect for code organization and reuse.

10. ASP.NET is server-side technology. This means the code will be executed before it has been sent to the browser.

11. All databases can be used. This includes Microsoft SQL server, MariaDB, MYSQL, CouchDB, MonoDB, and Postgres. Microsoft SQL can have software licenses that are on the expensive side, however, the free Express version will work quite nicely for many.

12. Deployment has never been easier. There is no longer the need to register components. This information will already be built into the system.

As you can see, there are many reasons why ASP.NET should be considered. One can really benefit from using this framework when they are developing their websites or web applications. If you are uncertain if you can benefit from using ASP.NET, consider contacting IB Systems USA. They will be able to assist you in keeping you informed of up to date information on the internet and ASP.NET, as well as help you with building a website that is of high quality.

Obviously, as technology keeps evolving, we’re looking forward to seeing some impressive digital transformation trends next year, but the question is: are we actually able to predict what the next year could bring us?

We tried to make a few predictions ourselves, based on what’s happening right now and what trends are being more and more present in our daily lives. Curious about what we thought? Stick with us for a few more minutes…

People will finally understand blockchain

2018 was all about cryptocurrencies, ICOs and this somehow new concept called blockchain. However, most people found all these ways too complicated, but we expect at least a few companies trying to build a plug-and-play version that anybody can understand.

Big names like IBM promised to unravel the potential of blockchain beyond cryptocurrency, while the financial industry is also looking at blockchain closely, so, most likely, developers will continue working at realizing its potential next year!

Augmented reality will gain more and more traction

Augmented reality has been around for a while and companies are already using it, whether it’s for presenting their services or advertising. And there are actually several use cases for this technology, so don’t be surprised if AR development will significantly ramp up in 2019.

And we kind of expect something amazing from a few brands next year, in terms of AR. We’re looking at you, Apple.

Chatbots will be everywhere

We’re absolutely convinced by this one. The technology powering chatbots reached new levels this year, but we’re expecting a complete revolution in 2019. Huge progress is constantly being made and experts believe that 40 percent of large businesses will adopt chatbots in the following 12 months.

More devices to be connected

That’s right, we’re talking about the Internet of Things. In 2019, we’re expecting to see it working alongside technologies like artificial intelligence, Machine Learning, and Edge. As the number of connected devices grows, it’s obvious that we need more space to process data. Cloud is a good solution, but the world needs something even better. And this “something” will surely appear!

5G networks will become something common

We’re already in that point where we can start seeing 5G everywhere, as companies like Qualcomm, Intel, Nokia, Samsung or Huawei are considering this technology, so these are exciting times for mobile users.

In 2018, fixed 5G built a foundation, but in 2019 we are going to see 5G finding its way on your mobile phones.

GDPR’s impact will be bigger

Despite the risks they’re exposing themselves to, 1/3 of companies are still not compliant with Europe’s General Data Protection Regulation. As a side note, around 1000 news sites in the United States can’t be accessed in Europe right now.

In 2019, informed customers will start caring much more about protecting their date, but also the companies who don’t do this.

Companies will hire for digital transformation

CEOs are expected to step up next year, as employees are craving to see digital transformation start at the very top of the company, without delegating the IT department to do this. Hiring people for this will become a priority, as they will be aware of the critical nature of building cultures that can change, but also learn to trust data more than ever before.

We, at IB Systems, as big technology fans, we’re looking forward to seeing these digital transformation trends gaining traction next year. In our mission to help companies expand their online presence, we’re always using the latest technologies, so no matter which trend will dominate 2019, we will surely exploit it to the max, in our clients’ advantage.

IT giants IBM and Microsoft had tussled fiercely in the nineties with the aim of dominating the holy grail of the online world-emails. But competition between the two soon fizzled out as Microsoft’s dominance was pervasive with Exchange as it became the standardized format to be used for emailing. IBM, on the other hand, was left twiddling its thumbs with Lotus Notes despite the offering having more interactive collaboration and administration tools. That Exchange’s email structure was more user-focused compared to Notes was what enabled Microsoft to ride roughshod over IBM. However, the turf wars might yet again be looming on the horizon with IBM’s proclamation of a cutting-edge email offering-Verse.

The email skirmishes of the 1990s

If you kept yourself in the loop about the email conflicts of the 1990s, you must have lapped up the aggressive conflicts between the IT behemoths for dominating the electronic mail territory. Microsoft’s Outlook which was innovated by a team that upstaged the unit overseeing the development of Exchange was nearly on the brink of being discarded. Outlook was on the way of meeting the same fate as Chrome effects that sunk without a trace.

IBM had taken over Lotus and could have edged past Microsoft with Lotus Notes but GE’s Forced Ranking employee ranking methodology spoiled the show. Microsoft’s top management, either fortuitously or by design, did not introduce Forced Ranking and thus Exchange was spared from being sidelined, and you know what happened eventually.

Dominance can be heady and can backfire

That you need to adapt with the times and periodically reinvent yourself doesn’t apply more than in the world of information technology. You cannot afford to rest on your laurels and Microsoft surely was on its feet right from the 1990s through to the time it drove Netscape out of the market by unethically bundling IE with Windows. Microsoft was so smug with IE that even misfires of some Window releases could not help it shake free from its overconfidence that the browser will dominate smartphones. Windows looked good on desktops and laptops but were elbowed out by Apple, Google, and Amazon when it came to interfacing with tablets and smartphones.

However, Microsoft continued to dominate the email scene with Exchange as it received an impetus courtesy the plethora of open-source platforms ensuring that Gmail kept occupying the maximum consumer space. Even entrepreneurs and business organizations persisted with their use of Exchange as the preferred commercial email platform despite the fact that Outlook remained static and looked pretty much the same as it did in the nineties.

IBM is poised for a comeback with Verse

The rumor mills are agog with buzzes that IBM can pose a serious challenge to Exchange with its Verse offering. And to up the ante against Microsoft, it has entered into a tactical alliance with Apple to shore up its marketing arm and add teeth to this department. IBM has seen to it that Verse is unmistakably user-focused and done away with the antiquated LIFO (last in first out) email supervision system. Verse places the user at the nerve-center of attention by adding layers or stratum with respect to perceptive computing in order to mechanize greater part of the emailing process as well as immunizing the user from committing project inhibiting or career damaging gaffes.

Appropriate utilization of Verse will mean a self-developing and correcting email assuring the writer that there are no grammatical or spelling errors. Additionally, the offering ensures that even the email’s intonation is relevant. The editions of Verse in the future will allow the user to concentrate on messages that demand his or immediate attention as the version will come with add-ons that’ll help in responding to routine questions that are sent via emails and instant messages. What IBM now needs is a CEO who has to be more user-directed to make Verse more user-intensive.
